Anchoring is the same as when, for example, a smell, a song, or a taste, evokes an emotional or mental response that typically originates from your childhood. You've attached an emotion to a specific time, frequently unconsciously. All of your adult experiences and reactions are based on your childhood. It basically serves as the foundation for all of our behavior patterns, triggers, and perceptions of our reality. We have more control over our emotions and triggers than we realize, and our minds are more powerful than we realize.

In a world where there are new trends every day and certain “aesthetics” displayed, our emotional well-being can face a few challenges including accepting the way we feel and allowing ourselves to express these emotions in a healthy way that is suitable to us.

There comes a time in our lives when we realize that the person or situation we have been trying so hard to work with and create a future with will just not work out. It suddenly dawns on us how unhappy we feel and how uncertain we are about letting go and moving on. 

Setting future goals can be a very motivating experience that makes you feel like you have it all under control and are ready to take on the world. When it comes to the actual process though…things sometimes take a difficult turn.
